All crib mattresses manufactured beginning February 10th, 2009, must meet the new Federal standards. Once advised of these forthcoming new regulations, Colgate Mattress Atlanta took proactive steps. In order to assure our compliance with these new standards and regulations we began testing our raw materials using independent third party laboratories beginning in April of 2008.
Since our inception in 1955, we have met or exceeded all Federal regulations and standards. Because of our persistent attention to detail and our reputation for producing quality products, many of our peers who manufacture children's furniture have chosen to use Colgate products on their furniture. Over the years our customers have included Bassett Furniture, Child Craft Industries, Pat Higdon Industries, Cosco (now Dorel Industries), Stanley Furniture Company, Baby's Dream Furniture and Green Frog Art. Additionally, we manufacture basket pads for many companies that produce Moses baskets.
We also produce the mattresses that are used in two independent testing companies here in the United States and for Health Canada. These mattresses have to meet exacting standards as they are used for testing the safety of other products. The testing agencies rely on Colgate to do it right.
With the advent of the internet, consumers have access to far more information than ever before. However, not all of this information is accurate and some of it can be intentionally misleading. Some of this less than accurate information purposely arouses fear in a new parent. We care about the health of your new baby, but we do not condone this type of "marketing." Our products are fully compliant with all regulations. Any inference to the contrary is untrue. We believe your infant deserves the best mattress inside and out.
Ours is a family business with three generations of family members working in the company today. The great grandchildren of our founder, Solomon Wolkin, use the same mattresses that we offer to you, our future customer.
